The Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC) and its partners in the FAIR for ALL (F4A) project, including Oxfam, the NGO Forum on Cambodia (NGOF), the Cambodian Agricultural Workers Federation (CAWF), the Farmer and Nature Net Association (FNN), SILAKA, and the NatureLife Cambodia (NLC), collaborated with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) organized a forum to raise awareness about the benefits of social protection in the banana and rubber agro-industry sector in Kratie province on August 5, 2025, under His Excellency Dr. Heng Sophannarith, Deputy Director General of the National Social Security Fund, with a total of 165 participants from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, the National Social Security Fund, private companies, representatives of civil society organizations, rubber and banana plantation workers from Kratie, Tbong Khmum, Kampong Cham, and Kampot provinces.

The forum aims to:

  1. Raise awareness of benefits, labor rights, and access to social protection.
  2. Promote stakeholder engagement and find solutions for workers.
  3. Provide opportunities for workers in the banana and rubber plantation sectors to raise challenges.

In this regard, CCC has shared the progress on 11 requests and demands of workers in the banana and rubber sectors, of which 3 requests have been resolved and responded positively by the companies, 3 other requests need to be further response by the companies, and 5 requests have not been responded, which requires cooperation from all parties, including the Royal Government, the private sector, and civil society, to make these protections a reality.
