Phnom Penh (November 04, 2014) – As you may know, recent comments by Cambodian government officials indicate that a draft Cybercrime law may be just days away from being finalized. Though the government has so far refused to make the draft copy public,a version that was leaked earlier this year raises serious concerns about the ramifications the law will have for online free expression and other critical human rights.

Phnom Penh (July 09, 2014) – Around 200 representatives from NGOs, Associations, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), NGO Provincial Networks, and Informal Groups met in a full-day dialogue to discuss and share their concerns, analysis, and advocacy plans on draft laws and passed laws with important implications for civil society at the Korean Society for Service in Asia (KSSA), Phnom Penh.

Phnom Penh 20 August 2015 : An NGO umbrella group will start holding workshops around the country next month to help independent organizations prepare for the implementation of the new NGO law, which has been viewed as an attempt by the government to clamp down on dissent.

We, the participants in the International Conference on the 25th Anniversary of the 1991 Paris Peace Accords on Cambodia (“the Paris Peace Agreements”), recall the importance of the obligations contained in the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements, which brought an end to decades of conflict and civil war in Cambodia, and laid the framework for a prosperous and peaceful future, based on human rights, participatory democracy, and the rule of law.

Around 300 NGOs organized a last-ditch to bring back negotiation table with the government of over a draft debatable NGO Law, which the premiere hopes to have the National Assembly passed as early as this month.
