ASAC is a Japanese NGO, which is non-governmental, non-profit and non-religious with commitment to international aid activities in Cambodia. "Equal Education Opportunity For All children" This is the motto of our organization. We'd like to offer and facilitate safe and secure education opportunities to Cambodian children as much as possible. The main support of ours to Cambodia is the Education area, which has suffered from the long civil war. Education is one of the most important sectors needed to rehabilitate the war-torn country, for the future of children who will be the next generation and the main power to reconstruct the society and to maintain democracy and peace. Therefore the Construction of Primary Schools is our first main activity in Cambodia. At the same time, we conduct Literacy Program for adults in our newly built school area, to give the chance of study to villagers who have lost education opportunities because of war and poverty, the program will improve their basic knowledge to help to promote their living condition.
ASAC started activites in Cambodia in January 1994 when the organization had not yet been established. The first visit of the Representative to Cambodia was to seek opportunities for aid activities. At that time, H.E EUNG HOURT, Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport agreed to encouraged our activities). Organized ASAC in Japan: September 1994 (Established Organization and started activities). Opened the Office in Cambodia: January 1995 Registered with the Royal Government: July 1996
We are committed to the improvement of Cambodia’s educational environment through inclusive educational assistance, at the source of which is school construction. Ultimately we intend to contribute to the independence of Cambodian people.
By promoting our educational assistance projects widely within Japan and abroad, we hope to gain an active participation of Japanese youth in our activity. We wish that the world-wide friendship cultivated by our activity would promote the wholesome development of Japan’s next young generation and eventually contribute to world peace.
