Overview

Understanding that Cambodia is the one which has just revived from the long-term tragedy of civil war lasting for more than 2 decades and has left lots of widows, disabled, lawlessness, Human Trafficking, Child’s Sex and Labour Exploitation, domestic violence, poverty and especially, after the civil war ended at the 1990s’s beginning, serious concern of AIDS in Cambodian society has taken place during 1990s and early 2000s, has killed Cambodian everyday and left children to live in loneliness, homelessness or with their relatives who have no ability to feed or send them to attend school, especially those are being discriminated by relatives and neighbors and haven’t received their rights stipulated in the Convention of Children Rights. Communities Development Organization (CPCDO) was established for two main objectives as follow: 1.To partly rescue and develop children who are victims by their parents died of AIDS and children affected by labor and sexual exploitation. 2.To partly drive down the poverty in the communities

Background

Children and Poor Communities Development Organization (CPCDO) is a local Non-governmental Organization established by a group of Cambodian people since April 09, 2000 and started its active works from November 15, 2000. CPCDO was registered with the Ministry of Interior on March 12, 2001 in order to rescue and develop children and partly reduce the poverty in the communities. The Organization does action to serve advantages of human being in mean of humanitarian, not to serve advantages of individuals or political parties. CPCDO has 4-branch office: 1. Kratie: Orussey village, Orussey commune, along national road, Kratie district, Kratie province (Rehabilitation Center). 2.Battambang: # 30, Path, Kouk Kdourch village, Tapoung commune, Thmor Koul district, Battambang province (Save-the-Children-Center). 3.Kompot: Trorpeng Kchorng village, Ang Phnomtouch commune, Angkor Chey district, Komport province (Save-the-Children-Center). 4.Svay Rieng: Haik Somnargn village, Mernchey commune, Romdaurl district, Svay Rieng province (Communities Development).

Mission

Establish orphan care center ( OCC) and Vocational training center for the helpless/ vulnerable children , women and girls. Open training courses of education and dissemination on awareness and knowledge useful for their daily living and provide them with grassroots credit

Vision

Helpless/ vulnerable children and women/ girls and people in the communities will become good citizens and have hope and stability in their life, especially they will become human resource needed for society development through using knowledge and skills provided by our organization.
