Background
NAS is dedicated to improving the quality of life for poor and vulnerable people, especially women and children. Our name, 'Nak Akphivath Sahakum', is Khmer. It means "community developer". We are a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organisation. We were established in May 1997 and gained formal recognition in June 1997 from the Provincial Governor, Kampong Cham Province. We were registered with the Ministry of Interior, Royal Kingdom of Cambodia in September 1999 and re-registered as an organisation in October 2010.
Mission
In achieving the vision, NAS has the following mission approaches: Empowering poor and vulnerable people, especially women and children. Improving knowledge and living conditions through adaptation to climate change. Creating efficient and sustainable livelihood option innovated by poor and vulnerable people, especially women and children.
Vision
Poor and vulnerable people live with a better standard of living and welfare.
Goal
Improving the quality of living conditions for poor and vulnerable people, especially women and children, through effective and sustainable livelihood options, a human-rights based approach to programming, and climate change awareness raising and adaptation.
