Overview

AAA-C is a non-profit and non-political organisation for all Cambodians who have studied at an Australian tertiary or vocational institutes. The AAA-C has around 600 members from diverse professional backgrounds, including government officials, business people, academics, researchers and individuals working within NGO sector. AAA-C is with missions to represent Australian alumni inside and outside Cambodia to contribute to the well-being of society, as well as, to assemble the Australian alumni to positively implement the association's objectives in a professional and responsible way

Background

With numerous functions and activities organised and funded by IDP Education each year since 1998, the alumni group became larger and this led to the establishment of the Australian Alumni Association of Cambodia (AAA-C) in 2002. The AAA-C was officially registered with the Ministry of Interior and officially launched in February 2002. IDP Education continued to provide annual budget support to the AAA-C and the secretariat function.

With the increasing number of Cambodians who have studied and returned from Australia, the AAA-C aims to help members and at the same time to assist the development of Cambodia into an equitable and prosperous. As a non-profit and non-political organisation, we hope to contribute to the well-being of society. AAA-C assists members to: • benefit individually and collectively from the experience gained in Australia • achieve their full professional potential • share the knowledge gained for the sustainable and equitable pattern of development of Cambodia • create a network of informed citizens that can advise Australian and Cambodian institutions on social, economic and education matters • foster friendly relations between Cambodia and Australia AAA-C functions as: • an organisation to assemble the Australian alumni to positively implement the association's objectives in a professional and responsible way • an official organisation to represent Australian alumni inside and outside Cambodia
