Lun Borithy
Executive Director
Dear Valued Members and visitors,
Welcome to our website. I hope you find the information here relevant and useful to you.
As an leading NGO Membership organization in Cambodia, we are committed to being open and accountable to you, and we actively pursue ways to keep you informed about our activities. Our website is one of the ways we do this.
CCC is committed to facilitating the exchange of information and fostering productive and mutually beneficial relationships among the development community in Cambodia. We aim to strengthen the collective voice of civil society. CCC embodies the belief that the collective strength of NGOs working together can contribute positively to the development of Cambodia. CCC has strong and effective relationships with international and local NGOs and NGO networks. Member organizations united under the umbrella of CCC enjoy free access to the unique bank of information about NGOs and development in Cambodia, advice regarding NGO organizational practices and up to date directories, research studies and surveys compiled and conducted by CCC and its affiliated partners and projects.
2010 marks the 20th anniversary of CCC work and partnership with the Cambodian people and the NGO community, which is definitely a major milestone in CCC history. The 20th Anniversary event held on 12th February 2010 provided a unique and historic opportunity for CCC founders, past and present Executive Committee members, members and staff of CCC to meet and reflect on past, present and future positive spirit of NGO’s solidarity and cooperation during the last 2 decades.
Finally, CCC strongly believes that our vision to have “a strong and capable civil society, cooperating and responsive to Cambodia’s development challenges” would only become a reality when all stakeholders stay connected and work collectively together to positively change Cambodia.

Institutional Identity:
While the development of Cambodia continues to face numerous challenges, one of the most critical is the challenge posed by Cambodia’s lack of inherent and pervasive good governance. This includes the NGO Sector, where CCC recognizes that low adherence to the ethics of accountability and transparency undermines and compromises the sector’s capacity to demonstrate its full potential as a powerful development actor.
CCC works through a variety of channels to achieve its goals of
- strengthening the collective/shared voice of civil society;
- enhancing effective cooperation across civil society;
- influencing the thinking and practice of Cambodia’s development partners; and
- delivering high-quality services appropriately responding to the true needs of NGOs.
As the leading and longest established membership organization for local and international NGOs in Cambodia, CCC has played a unique role since 1990 in strengthening the cooperation, professionalism, accountability, governance, and development effectiveness of the civil society organizations (CSOs) that are working across diverse sectors in Cambodia. While Cambodia makes positive steps forward, the role of both international and local NGOs remains significant for the reduction of poverty and overall development of Cambodia.
CCC is currently shifting from a project-based approach to a singular, cohesive programmatic approach (the Governance Hub Program, or GHP), which will enable it to be a more effective and efficient organization, with greater capacity to support NGOs in their efforts to meaningfully and strategically contribute to the development of Cambodia.
The GHP is comprised of three closely interconnected components (Voluntary Certification; Capacity Development and Learning; Knowledge Management, Advice, Referrals and Linkages), which will each contribute to the GHP’s identified strategic outcomes. By supporting NGOs to model good governance; to build their capacity to participate in and contribute to the development of Cambodia; and to generate knowledge and disseminate learning related to good governance, CCC will continue to gain ground on achieving its goals.
As it has over the past 21 years, CCC will keep delivering on its mission, through active liaison on NGO matters with the Royal Government of Cambodia; through building strong and effective relationships with international and local NGOs, NGO networks, and donor agencies; through representation of NGOs at consultative group meetings; conducting members’ information meetings; housing and managing its resource centre; publishing information directories; and by providing support services for the NGO community in Cambodia.
