NGO Good Practice Project (NGO GPP) identifies relevant resource materials for inclusion in the CCC Resource Centre: model NGO Codes of Conduct from other countries; articles related to good practice, NGO accountability, transparency; organisational self assessment tools; NGO self regulation systems and standards; Board Development tools, etc. At present, these materials are available English, with a limited number available in Khmer. NGO GPP conducted a survey on NGO Accountabilities and NGO Code Acceptance with its relevant stakeholders including government representatives, donor representatives and target population. This survey aimed to understand different stakeholder groups' current views on, and awareness of, the recently developed Code of Ethical Principles and Minimum Standards for NGOs in Cambodia.  This report presents and analyses results of a survey that was designed to measure stakeholder understanding of and positions on NGO accountability and transparency, as well as their awareness of the Code.  CCC surveyed three levels of stakeholders: donors, government, and target community members, primarily at the commune level. Report of the consultative feedback meeting. The meeting aimed to present information about the development of the draft Code of Ethical Principles and Minimum Standards for NGOs in Cambodia, and the draft Code Guidance Document, and to provide an opportunity for NGOs and other participants to give their feedback on the new draft Code Guidance Document. NGO GPP organised a one-day workshop on NGO Self-Regulation at the Sunway Hotel.  This workshop was supported by AusAID, Forum Syd and Oxfam GB.
The seminar aimed:

  1. To learn about NGO self-regulation systems in other countries and their impact/benefit on the NGO sector in those countries
  2. To raise awareness about how NGO accountability can be addressed through voluntary NGO self-regulation initiatives

The seminar featured two guest speakers: Mr. Mark Sidel, Professor of Law at the University of Iowa, USA, and Ms. Rhonda Chapman, PhD Research Candidate and former Director of Standards and Practice for the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID). There were 58 (20 female) seminar participants from the NGO sector, donors, government representatives and other stakeholders. More>> Workshop Report on NGO Self Regulation
